The Short Fuse (And What's Really Behind It)
A free live session for exhausted parents of babies and toddlers. You'll learn what's actually happening to you at 2am and 5pm, why willpower has nothing to do with it, and the resets that work one-handed, in the dark, with a screaming child on your hip. No sleep training. No routines. No scripts.
Pop your details in and I'll text and email you the Zoom link, plus a reminder before we start.
Leading teams under pressure before this, now a consultant for new parents
Breathwork, functional breathing, mindfulness and nervous system regulation
Dad to a toddler, running on the same amount of sleep you are, but steady through it all.
Why this session exists
There's a point most parents hit somewhere in the first couple of years where the tiredness stops being tiredness. It starts being you. The short fuse. The going cold. Snapping at the person you love most and hating yourself ten seconds later.
Then comes the thought you'd never say out loud. Not I'm tired. The other one. What if this is just who I am now.
Every bit of advice aimed at you right now is about the child. Their sleep, their food, their behaviour, what to say when they melt down. Almost nothing is about what's happening to the person holding them.
That's what this hour is for.
A live reset for the person holding the child.

They treat it as a sleep problem. So they wait, white-knuckle it, and assume everything goes back to normal once the child sleeps through.
Apps and advice are built for people with ten quiet minutes and a clear head. At 5pm with a screaming toddler you have neither, so none of it reaches you.
Something that works when thinking isn't available. One hand free, in the dark, in the middle of it. That's a different skill, and it can be taught.
Inside the session
We start where most parents actually are, rather than where they pretend to be. If you've had the 2am thought, you'll know within the first few minutes that you're in the right room.
Why the short fuse has almost nothing to do with how much you love your child, and what's really driving it. This is the part that changes how you see the last six months.
It isn't the whole day that breaks you. It's a handful of minutes, and it's the same ones every day. We map them, so you stop treating this as a personality problem.
What's happening for a small child in these years, why they read you before they understand a word you say, and what that means for the home you're building. Handled honestly, without the guilt.
What it actually takes to change the pattern underneath, rather than manage it on the night. The four things that have to shift, how long each one takes, and what parents have at the end of it.
Not a demonstration. We run a reset in the room, everyone at once, and you'll feel the difference in about ninety seconds. This is why it's worth being there live.
Stay to the end and bring whatever's going on at home. Cameras off if you'd rather. Baby on you is completely fine — half of us will be doing the same.

Who's running it
I'm John. I'm a proud father, a nervous system consultant and I've spent 7 years helping people stay steady under pressure, with 15 years leading teams before that.
My wife had hyperemesis (or HG) for her entire pregnancy. Our daughter arrived by caesarean and my wife couldn't walk for 4 days, so from the first hour I was the only one standing. On the second night I was so exhausted I asked a nurse to take my baby for an hour, because I honestly thought I might drop her.
Months later I was pushing a pram in circles around my own kitchen at 2am, because it was the only thing that worked.
My training and accreditations gave me a way back to calm and steady, faster than I'd have found on my own. That's what I'm going to walk you through. Returning back in moments who feel you've lost who you are. Becoming the person who holds your family together.

Real experiences
"Before I started I was running on anxiety. Snapping at things that didn't deserve it, making calls without really thinking them through, and by the afternoon I was so wiped I'd have to stop and lie down just to get through the rest of the day.
I wasn't present. Not for work, and not for my family.
The shift came faster than I expected. By the end of the first week I already felt different. It came down to being consistent from day one and actually building a relationship with my own breath. Any time I hit a hard moment, I'd take a breath, and the right thing would come to me with a clear head instead of a forced one.
The best part wasn't anything I could measure. It was being able to stay in the moment, and actually be there for my family instead of just getting through the day near them.
If you're on the fence, give it a crack and be consistent with it. Everyone's got a nervous system. We all need to breathe."
